The Nurtured Heart Approach allows us to focus on the positive. This helps change the cycle of negative behavior which results in negative feedback to positive behavior that results in positive feedback.

61025Crisis Training and Functional Behavior Techniques- Crisis training looks at neurosensory centering behaviors in the students and helps identify them. Everyone has something that they do when under stress to help them cope with the stress. This training helps teach what some common neurosensory centering behaviors are. It also teaches someone how to identify neurosensory centering behaviors and what to do when the student starts to present those behaviors. This training is to teach how to identify behaviors that will escalate the students and then what to do when those behaviors show up. In this training, it also teaches how to handle behaviors that a student is exhibiting in a safe and positive way with a positive solution that they can reflect and learn from.

minfulnessMindfulness- Mindfulness focus’ on anchoring the mind and focusing on the current thought that the student is working on and allowing them to flush the others out with success. With this approach students who have previously had a challenge channeling their thoughts are able to gain successful techniques and the ability to focus.

dbbt

DBT- Dialectical Behavior Therapy, known as DBT, teaches students ways to manage their behavior in less ideal situations. Staff is trained in DBT to help their students work through situations to come up with a solution that is both reasonable and realistic.

act 2

ACT- ACT is used within ABA methods but focus’ on the mind as well as conventional ABA procedures. This helps change and shape the behaviors of students in a positive and more effective way than ABA alone has.

stressAnxiety Stress Management- Anxiety Stress Management is used to help students that struggle with anxiety to give them a way to cope with it. Most students have some coping skills but they aren’t always effective, we help them identify their triggers and then teach them ways to cope that are effective and appropriate.
