Welcome to C.O.R.E Methods

C.O.R.E Methods is an extremely flexible approach that meets students and educators in their environments. C.O.R.E provides support and education to those around the student to create a path of integration. This approach was created by Dr. Bethany Bilodeau, known to most as Dr. B, to help clients achieve the highest level of independence possible. Her passion of teaching found a trajectory of focusing on changing behaviors. This lead her to multiple certificates in the field of behavior support, self-created methods and a true passion for helping individuals integrate into their systems and day to day lives with ease and support.

Dr. Bethany’s model has been proven with 83% of participants integrating within one school year.**

C.O.R.E’s Focus:

To work with all the systems in an individual’s life, in most cases a student, to integrate techniques to help decrease unwanted behaviors and promote good and beneficial behaviors.

How:

The C.O.R.E team will work with clients in their environment to assess school and classroom values. From there, a plan is created to guide the client toward success by providing recognition and sensory feedback.

A significant amount of one on one support is used to assess the needs, abilities and interests of the client. This method allows us to strengthening the client’s network of support, while C.O.R.E Staff decreased their support over time.

We strive to promote our clients to be as independent as possible, knowing that in time they will no longer need our services. Success is anticipated by focusing on the future. We create longterm goals to assess what will be needed over time and develop plans for training to learn new skills. To bridge the gap we support clients by scheduling tours of activities they would like to spend their time doing, job shadows, internships and volunteer opportunities.

Who does C.O.R.E help:

A majority of our clients are those with behavior concerns. Clients range from toddlers, adolescents, teenagers and adults.

The other type of clients are those who are supporting individuals with behavior challenges. From school districts to individual families to support staff to professional development, C.O.R.E offers trainings and one on one support to make sure that anyone dealing with unwanted behaviors can find support.

Why:

If a client can learn successful coping strategies, there is a great deal of limitations that can disappear. This allows them to find success by having small wins that, ultimately, lead to larger ones. Which in turn leads to more independence and overall success.
